Usability considerations should be of prime importance in the design of an e-commerce web site.

A well structured site gives users what they want when they want it.
Laying out a website design is ehere all of the different aspects of web design meet up. From research, information architecture, and user experience design through to the typography, colour and grid systems.


Wireframes contain information that is essential for the other team members to do their jobs. The wireframes must communicate what content the user expects to see on each screen.

Human Interface Design.
Designing the human interface to an e-commerce web site should focus on gaining the user's attention, orienting the user to the business that will be transacted, and retaining the user's attention. The goal is to achieve active participation by the user in the web site.

The simple global navigation area at the top stays visible and consistent throughout site. Keeping a consistent navigational structure helps people visualize their current location and options, and minimizes guesswork.
The secend level navigation gives people the ability to research products and refine the selection to only the relevant ones, so all items don't have to be considered.

Product descriptions need to be detailed enought to give people a good sense of the product and help them differentiate among choices.
Precise descriptions make confident purchase decisions.

Visually crowded site is overwhelming–making it difficult for users to quickly identify what's important and create order.
